A Look Back at Our Groundbreaking AR Game with Elbo Glass

In 2019, we teamed up with Elbo Glass to create an innovative augmented reality experience that was truly ahead of its time. Drawing inspiration from Pokémon Go and Tamagotchi, the app let users collect, care for, and interact with a vibrant cast of Elbo’s dinosaur characters—each meticulously modeled, sculpted, rigged, and animated from scratch. Built in Unreal Engine, our goal was to fuse the world of glass art and digital technology in a way few had ever done before. The result? A custom mobile AR game where players could build personalized habitats and view their dinos both in-app and through AR image recognition.

Launched at Elbo’s Heaterz Event in California, the game debuted with nine exclusive characters that could only be unlocked by scanning specially designed codes at the gallery. Our team traveled to Los Angeles to oversee the on-site setup, helping attendees download and navigate the app while showcasing the cutting-edge blend of gaming, AR, and glass artistry. This hands-on approach ensured everyone could experience the thrill of collecting and caring for Elbo’s dinosaur companions firsthand.

Looking to the future, we’re excited about the endless possibilities for expansion. Plans are already underway to introduce new dinos, customizable cosmetics, unlockables, additional levels, and engaging mini-games—all powered by emerging innovative technologies. This continued evolution will further enrich the interactive experience and keep the adventure alive for new and returning players.

This crossover between glass blowing, digital art, and augmented reality captivated event-goers, who discovered a fresh new dimension to Elbo’s creative universe. By integrating scanning mechanics, immersive AR environments, and exclusive in-app content—like toys, glass releases, and more—we brought the community closer to Elbo’s creations than ever before. The project was a testament to how forward-thinking collaborations can push boundaries, bridge artistic disciplines, and set the stage for the future of interactive art. Even now, looking back, we’re proud to have been part of something so fresh and truly out of the box.
